Spirit

A Connection to Purpose, Energy, and the Greater Whole

We are first and foremost spiritual beings.  When we neglect this part of us we battle to consistently live our lives at the highest level.

Your spirit is that part of you that is intangible and eternal.   It is that part of you that is divine and eternal.  Your spirit will live beyond the tangible but was designed to have a concrete impact on the created world..

To me, the spirit is the part of us that reaches beyond the visible and the measurable—it’s where our deepest purpose, vitality, and sense of connection reside. While the mind navigates our thoughts and the body anchors us in the physical world, the spirit gives us the sense that life is more than the sum of its parts. It’s what ties us to something bigger—whether you see that as God or the universe.

I’ve come to see the spirit as both a source of boundless energy and a compass that points us toward the life we’re meant to live. When we nurture this connection, we tap into a wellspring of purpose, peace, and transformation.  Here are six ways a coaching journey with me can help you focus on this important aspect of your life.

1. The Spirit and Connection

Awareness of the spiritual world around is the Source from which we came is the essential part we need to live our greatest life.  We’re wired for connection—not just to people but to the bigger picture of life itself. The spirit reminds us that we’re not isolated; we’re part of something much greater.

Coaching often involves exploring this interconnectedness:

  • Spiritual growth: How do we measure this? Let me take you on a journey.
  • Building meaningful relationships: Finding or strengthening connections that reflect shared values.
  • Recognising oneness: Whether through faith, community, or nature, seeing how we fit into a larger whole.
  • Serving others: Pouring into others’ lives can be a deeply spiritual experience, one that fills both the giver and the receiver.

When we live with this awareness, life feels richer—more grounded in love and purpose.

2. The Spirit and Life’s Purpose

When you feel aligned with your purpose, life has a flow to it—a sense of rightness that’s hard to describe but unmistakable when you experience it. I believe that alignment begins with the spirit.

Helping clients connect with their purpose often involves guiding them to:

  • Clarify their values: What truly matters to you at the deepest level?
  • Listen to their intuition: That quiet inner voice often knows what the mind struggles to articulate.
  • Pursue goals that matter: Not just the ones that look good on paper but those that resonate with their deeper calling.

Purpose isn’t something you can fabricate—it’s something you uncover as you reconnect with your spirit. And once you find it, life starts to feel more meaningful and fulfilling.

3. The Spirit and Peace

There’s a calm that comes when you’re grounded in your spirit—a peace that doesn’t depend on circumstances. It’s not about pretending life isn’t hard sometimes, but about knowing you’re anchored to something steady even when the waves rise.

I’ve found that simple practices can nurture this sense of peace, such as:

  • Meditation: Even five minutes of quiet can open the space to connect with the spirit.
  • Gratitude: Reflecting on what’s good, even in difficult seasons, can shift your perspective.
  • Mindful living: Learning to let go of regrets about the past or anxieties about the future and focus on now.

When clients make space for these practices, they often find that the noise fades and clarity emerges.

4. The Spirit and Energy

Have you ever felt completely depleted—mentally, physically, emotionally—and yet somehow found the strength to take one more step forward? That’s the spirit at work. It’s like the deeper current that sustains us when everything else feels like it’s running on empty.

As I work with clients, I often see how connecting with the spirit can rekindle their energy and drive. It’s not about a quick fix but about tapping into something enduring, something that fuels motivation, passion, and resilience even in challenging times.

Some ways I help clients reconnect to this life force include:

  • Breathwork and stillness: Pausing to breathe deeply and consciously, allowing the body and spirit to recharge.
  • Solitude in nature: Spending time outdoors to quiet the noise and reconnect with the energy of creation.
  • Reflection on passions: Revisiting the things that light their fire and remembering why they matter.

5. The Spirit and Intuition

That “gut feeling” we so often dismiss? It’s the spirit speaking. It’s wisdom that doesn’t come from logic or analysis but from a deeper knowing.

Helping clients trust their intuition involves:

  • Creating stillness: The spirit speaks quietly, so we need moments of calm to hear it.
  • Exploring emotions and thoughts: Journaling or reflection can bring intuitive nudges to the surface.
  • Awareness of the spiritual world around you: Intentional living helps us become more aware of the unseen world around us.
  • Taking small steps: Learning to trust intuition by acting on it in small, low-stakes situations and noticing the results.

When clients learn to listen to their intuition, they often find themselves making decisions that feel authentic and aligned with their true selves.

6. The Spirit and Transformation

The most profound growth doesn’t come from forcing change—it comes from letting the Spirit lead the process of transformation. This often requires surrendering old patterns, beliefs, and ways of being to make space for something new.

I see this happen when clients:

  • Release what no longer serves them: Whether it’s a limiting belief, a past hurt, or a toxic habit.
  • Welcome change with an open heart: Trusting that transformation is part of life’s rhythm.
  • Align with their calling: Letting their spirit guide them toward what feels most true and alive.

Transformation isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it.

Practical Ways to Nurture the Spirit

Here are a few simple practices for keeping your spirit alive and vibrant:

  • Gratitude journaling: Start or end each day by naming three things you’re thankful for.
  • Time in nature: Step outside, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the beauty around you.
  • Moments of stillness: Pause throughout the day to take a deep breath and centre yourself.
  • Acts of kindness: Do something for someone else, whether it’s big or small.

Final Thoughts

The spirit is where we find our deepest strength, purpose, and peace. It’s what connects us to the divine, to others, and to ourselves. When we take the time to nurture this part of us, life opens up in ways we never imagined.

Living from the spirit isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence. It’s about being fully alive, fully yourself, and fully connected to the world around you. And that, to me, is where the real magic of life begins.
